SECTION 3 - PURCHASE PRICE AND CONSIDERATION

3.2 Consideration. In consideration of the purchase price, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, Seller hereby sells, assigns, and transfers to Buyer all right, title, and interest in the Vehicle.
3.3 Indiana Sales and Use Tax. Indiana imposes a 7% sales tax (I.C. § 6-2.5-2-1) on the purchase price of a motor vehicle purchased in a private-party transaction. Indiana's sales tax is collected by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) at the time of title transfer and registration. Buyer is responsible for paying the applicable sales tax to the Indiana BMV. No deduction is available for the trade-in value in a private-party sale. (Verify current rate and any applicable local taxes at in.gov/bmv.)
SECTION 4 - FEDERAL ODOMETER DISCLOSURE

SECTION 5 - "AS-IS" SALE / NO WARRANTY DISCLAIMER
5.1 "As-Is" Condition. Seller makes NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, as to the condition, merchantability, or fitness of the Vehicle for any particular purpose. Buyer accepts the Vehicle in its present condition, "AS IS, WHERE IS," with all faults.
5.2 Opportunity to Inspect. Buyer acknowledges that Buyer has had a full and fair opportunity to inspect the Vehicle (including through a mechanic of Buyer's choosing) prior to purchase, and that Buyer is not relying on any representation by Seller other than those expressly set forth in this Bill of Sale.
5.3 Known Defects and Disclosures. Seller discloses the following known material defects, conditions, or prior damage to the Vehicle:

SECTION 6 - LIEN / ENCUMBRANCE DISCLOSURE
6.1 Title Status. Seller represents and warrants that:
- [X] The Vehicle is free and clear of all liens, security interests, and encumbrances, and Seller has full and clear authority to sell and transfer title.

6.2 Indemnification. Seller shall indemnify Buyer against any undisclosed liens or encumbrances that arise from Seller's acts or omissions prior to the date of sale.
SECTION 7 - TITLE TRANSFER AND REGISTRATION (INDIANA)
7.1 Indiana Title Transfer. Seller shall provide Buyer with the Indiana Certificate of Title (properly assigned on the back of the title - Section 1 for assignment of ownership) at the time of delivery. The title must include:
- Seller's signature in the "Seller's Signature" block;
- Buyer's printed name and address;
- Purchase price; and
- Odometer reading.
7.2 Buyer's Obligation to Title and Register. Under Indiana Code § 9-17-2-1, Buyer must apply for an Indiana Certificate of Title within 31 calendar days of the date of purchase. Failure to apply within 31 days may result in late title fees. To apply, Buyer must present to the Indiana BMV or a license branch:
- The assigned Indiana Certificate of Title;
- Completed State Form 44230 (Application for Certificate of Title) or online application;
- Proof of Indiana liability insurance;
- Payment of title fee (currently $15 for an original title as of 2026 - verify with the Indiana BMV at in.gov/bmv);
- Payment of 7% Indiana sales tax on the purchase price;
- Payment of applicable registration fees (varies by county and vehicle type).
7.3 License Plates. Indiana license plates belong to the vehicle, not the owner. Plates transfer with the vehicle in a private-party sale. Exception: If Buyer does not use the existing plates, Seller should surrender them to the Indiana BMV to stop registration obligations.
7.4 Seller's Release-of-Liability / Notice of Transfer. Seller is strongly encouraged to notify the Indiana BMV of the sale by completing a Notice of Sale / Transfer form (available at in.gov/bmv) or by submitting a vehicle registration cancellation, to protect Seller from future liability arising out of Buyer's use of the vehicle after the sale.
7.5 Emissions. Indiana requires emissions testing only in Lake and Porter counties (Chicago metropolitan area). Buyer should verify whether the county of registration requires emissions testing before completing registration.
7.6 Vehicle Inspection. Indiana does not require a statewide mandatory pre-sale safety inspection for private vehicle sales. However, Buyer is encouraged to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic before purchase.
SECTION 8 - DELIVERY
8.1 Delivery. Seller shall deliver the Vehicle, all keys, key fobs, garage openers, owner's manual, maintenance records, and any other items included in the sale to Buyer at:

- The Vehicle is free of all undisclosed liens, encumbrances, and security interests;
- The odometer reading in Section 4 is accurate to the best of Seller's knowledge;
- All information in this Bill of Sale is accurate and complete; and
- Seller has disclosed all known material defects and conditions as required in Section 5.
SECTION 10 - ENTIRE AGREEMENT; GOVERNING LAW
This Bill of Sale constitutes the entire agreement between the parties regarding the purchase and sale of the Vehicle and supersedes all prior negotiations and representations. This Bill of Sale shall be governed by the laws of the State of Indiana. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of [[County]] County, Indiana.
