Bill of Sale Record for Tax and Registration
This document may be used to support the Kansas title application and to calculate any applicable sales or use tax due upon registration. Buyer should present this Bill of Sale together with the assigned title to the county treasurer's office.
This Kansas Vehicle Bill of Sale is a sample template that includes required vehicle description, odometer disclosure under federal law (49 U.S.C. §32705) and Kansas titling requirements, as-is terms, lien warranty, and signature blocks. Kansas requires proper title transfer through the county treasurer and payment of applicable sales tax. This document is not legal advice. Parties should verify current Kansas Department of Revenue procedures, any county-specific requirements, and consult counsel if the transaction involves special circumstances (e.g., out-of-state title, salvage, or financed sale). Odometer disclosure must be completed accurately. Information current as of June 2026.
