4. Title and Ownership Transfer
District of Columbia law and DC DMV regulations govern the transfer of title for motor vehicles in Washington DC. The Seller represents and warrants that the Seller is the lawful owner of the Vehicle and has full right and authority to sell and transfer title to the Buyer.
The Seller shall deliver to the Buyer at or promptly after the time of sale:
- The original certificate of title properly assigned to the Buyer, with odometer disclosure completed
- Any required lien release if the Vehicle was subject to a security interest
- Keys, remote controls, and all documentation in Seller's possession relating to the Vehicle
- Completed DC DMV transfer forms as required (including any REG-equivalent forms used by DC DMV)
The Buyer is responsible for titling the Vehicle with the DC DMV within the time required by law and for paying all applicable transfer taxes, title fees, and registration fees.
5. Representations and Warranties of Seller
The Seller represents and warrants that:
- Seller is the sole legal and registered owner of the Vehicle and has the right to sell it free and clear of all liens, encumbrances, and adverse claims except as disclosed in writing.
- The Vehicle has not been declared a total loss, salvage, rebuilt, or lemon by any insurer or government authority unless specifically disclosed: [[Disclosure of Salvage/Rebuilt/Lemon Status or "None"]].
- To the best of Seller's knowledge, the odometer reading is accurate as certified above.

6. As-Is Sale and Release

10. Governing Law
This Bill of Sale shall be governed by the laws of the District of Columbia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the District of Columbia.
